Youth who understand the roles, responsibilities, rights, and routines of a citizen and are equipped with engineering design thinking skills can propose and participate in enacting solutions that improve their communities and society and thereby become engaged citizen-engineers who understand how to use the levers of government and engineering design principles to innovate effective solutions to vexing social problems.
